AWE inspired Immersive VR Therapy

Content Creation and Research
MagikaVRx is creating original content for VR immersive therapy experiences. Yarbrow spearheaded and guided the student led Projects for Peace, Davis Foundation grants for two years. The result was that the teams created 6 original immersive experiences. She worked with Dr. Kathleen Benton at Hospice Savannah and the Steward Center for Palliative Care as partners and medical advisors on these projects.
After experiencing the immensely gratifying work with Hospice Savannah, Yarbrow has a special goal of enhancing the end-of-life experience. With the patient’s permission, she can take them on special VR trips to places they have longed to visit and she has created a series of meditative and spiritually uplifting VR experiences specifically aimed for use in Hospice care.

Immersive VR Therapy
MagikaVRx has had amazing results working with patients who have greatly benefitted from VR therapy sessions. After sessions, patients have reported pain reduction or no pain and results that have lasted for hours, often approaching results produced by opioid medications. Anxiety has been calmed, spirits lifted, sleep restored and memory stimulated. Patients, caregivers and families have all benefitted from the VR sessions.
VR Therapy for Healthcare facilities
MagikaVRx is working with Hospice Savannah and the Steward Center for Palliative Care to develop an on-going program of VR therapy with the caregivers and volunteers. The program includes providing VR tech systems, VR content, training, scheduling and a system for tracking metrics and patient results. With this experience and expertise, MagikaVRx can provide and implement systems for hospitals, healthcare facilities, skilled nursing homes and many types of health and wellness centers.

“After experiencing my own mother’s passing in hospice, I am passionate about creating an uplifting experience for the patients who are nearing their transition. VR can be an amazing experience for the patients and their families. I have heard a patient say that she was “not afraid to die” after being immersed in a VR experience.”
